Boy's mystery and adventure stories. The orphaned Dacre brothers, 17-year-old Tom and younger brother Jack, inherit a bungalow in the Maine woods from their uncle/guardian, whom they have never met, and who has apparently been lost at sea. The brothers, with three of their Audobon Academy schoolmates who make up the quintette known as the Phrantic Phive, travel to Maine to camp in the bungalow and search for the secret "leaden key that leads to gold"; the group becomes the "bungalow boys" and round-the-world adventures ensue.
