"Open-air pastimes have always been popular with boys, and should always be encouraged, as they provide healthy recreation both for the body and the mind. These books mingle adventure and fact, and will appeal to every manly boy." -- Grosset & Dunlap advertising blurb, courtesy of Thomas Duffy

Written by Edward Stratemeyer, and described as "Companion Stories to the famous Rover Boys Series".

The first few volumes were published by Mershon and reprinted by Stitt; then, Grosset & Dunlap picked up the series and continued it.
