Originally published by Cupples & Leon; at least 4 volumes were reprinted by Whitman.

Here's all you need to know about the series:

(1) Every person and animal is waiting to attack the heroes.

(2) When someone attacks the heroes, they shoot at them and win, and

(3) Anything mechanical is always breaking down.

With these three rules, you have the plot of every book in the series. In volume one, for example, the heroes are chased by townspeople, fly off in their airship, get attacked by eagles, shoot at the eagles, break down and fix the ship, get attacked by seals, shoot seals, fix the airship, get attacked by polar bears, shoot the bears, fix the ship, get attacked by 'Esquimaux,' shoot them, fix the ship, are attacked by a whale, shoot the whale, fix the ship, and then, for good measure, get attacked by Esquimaux again.
